A yeast infection is by no means enjoyable for any man, woman or child and more often than not, most individuals aren’t even aware of the Candida yeast symptoms. Yeast infections are common not just among women, but men, children and babies as well.

While the yeast infection is by far the most common infection of the vagina and there is a good chance that you’ve probably experienced them first hand before, how can you be 100 percent sure that you are experiencing Candida yeast symptoms and not symptoms from another form of vaginal infection?

What Are The Causes?

Before we delve into the common Candida symptoms, let’s consider what causes a yeast infection. The most common causes of a yeast infection include but are by no means limited to stress, antiobiotics, obesity, pregnancy, diabetes, use of sprays with high levels of alcohol and your menstrual cycle.

Yeast is also present in your vagina, but it is at a health level, which is utterly harmless. However, when the environment becomes favorable, yeast thrives and multiples resulting in Candida yeast symptoms.

Typical Candida Yeast Symptoms

Sometimes, noticeable symptoms may not appear. Usually, this is because the yeast infection is mild rather than more severe. However, here are a few typical Candida yeast symptoms that you would experience if you do indeed have a yeast infection:

  • Internal and external burning of the vagina, which can very commonly be pretty severe.
  • Itching all around and sometimes inside the vaginal area as well as among the labia, which is the vagina opening.
  • Swelling and redness of the vaginal opening – the labia.
  • White or gray vaginal discharge that is generally thick. Many often describe its appearance as cottage cheese.
  • Burning – sometimes unbearable – during urination.
  • Pain can sometimes be experienced during sexual intercourse.
  • Vaginal odor – this is less likely than the above-mentioned Candida symptoms as a fishy odor typically coincides with a bacterial infection.  However, a vaginal yeast infection could potentially produce an unwelcome vaginal odor.

Candida symptoms are by no means hazardous to your health; however, they can often become very irritating. In addition, frequent vaginal yeast infections could mean that there is an underlying health condition.

If this is the case, it is important that you see a doctor as soon as you can. In fact, there are other types of vaginal infections and sexually transmitted diseases, such as Trichomoniasis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, that have the exact same symptoms.

It is important that you become aware of the Candida yeast symptoms so that you can spot a yeast infection early on.

The earlier that you can identify that you have a yeast infection with the Candida yeast symptoms, the quicker you can treat it and the less time you’ll have to spend going crazy and gritting your teeth through the pain.

If at anytime you are uncomfortable with self-diagnosis or you feel that your Candida yeast symptoms could be the result of something more serious, contact your health physician immediately.
